July 18-19, 2024 – Fourth Symposium of Masters in PSdK

Since 2021, the Master of Social Development and Welfare Study Program has organized the Master of Social Development and Welfare (PSdK) Symposium. This symposium initially responded to the need for students to complete their studies on time. In subsequent years, this symposium has become a forum for Master of Social Development and Welfare students and lecturers in the Department of Social Development and Welfare to discuss the progress of research that is being or has been carried out. The symposium also invited several keynote speakers to discuss national and international research.

The social, economic, political changes that have taken place locally, nationally and globally in recent years have prompted the importance of reviewing the social development process in Indonesia. Challenges and Prospects for Social Development and Welfare in Indonesia is a major theme that frames the discussions of keynote speakers and presenters at the Fourth Symposium of Master of Social and Welfare Studies.

The symposium was held on Thursday and Friday, July 18 and 19, 2024 at Fisipol UGM. The event was packaged in 3 keynote speaker sessions, 15 lecturer and student research discussion panels, and book exhibitions. The purpose of this event is to develop discussion space, imagination and academic culture within the Department of Social Development. Through this 2024 Master of Social Development and Welfare (PSdK) Symposium activity, the Master’s Program and the PSdK Department are also committed to encouraging students to complete their final assignments on time. This is because qualitatively, one of the issues related to the process of completing students’ final assignments is the lack of optimal student activeness in scientific discussions regarding the topics of their thesis research.
