Janianton Damanik is a lecturer and researcher in the Department of Social Development and Welfare at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia. He holds a Doctor of Social Geography from Bielefeld University, Germany, a Master of Population programs from Gadjah Mada University, and a Bachelor of Social Development and Welfare from Gadjah Mada University. His research interests are in the areas of Community Based Development, Sustainable Development, Tourism.
