Yuda is a tenured faculty member at UGM’s Department of Social Development & Welfare, where he also serves as Acting Director of the Master of Social Development Program and Editor-in-Chief of the Scopus Q3-indexed Journal of Social and Political Sciences. He holds a PhD in Social Policy from Lingnan University, Hong Kong, specializing in policy process theories, methodologies, and comparative social policy, with a focus on Asia. An accomplished author of books, chapters, and numerous journal articles, Yuda also contributes widely to op-ed discussions on Indonesian politics and social policy. In November 2024, he was a top awardee of a prestigious grant from the Australian National University (ANU)-Indonesia project. In 2022 – present, he is also a co-investigator for Global Welfare Research, an initiative funded by the 2030 Cross-Generation Young Scholars Program (National Science and Technology Council, Taiwan), the Strategic Topics Grant (Hong Kong Research Grant Council, Hong Kong), and additional support from the Ministry of Education, Taiwan. This research investigates global welfare regimes, focusing on social protection system design.
